DESIGNER - sam pernoski

Sam Pernoski is a new surface pattern designer from Canada. Sam began to study pattern just over a year ago (taking courses by Lilla Rogers and Make it in Design) and has been in love ever since! Her work is typically bold and more graphic, and often includes quirky hand drawn motifs. Sam designs with a fun focus in mind which she hopes in turn inspires others in a positive way. If you like her style you can find out more via her portfolio website here.

2018 CALENDARS - sam osborne

Designer Sam Osborne just released her 2018 wall planners. There are eight main designs all available as A2 wall planners. They each have a different pattern or illustration - from Scandinavian inspired florals to a fully illustrated cityscape. Sam has been selling wall planners since 2013 and this year she has her biggest range yet with loads of new designs and in both landscape and portrait formats for the first time. You can find more details in Sam's Etsy Shop along with some additional designs available as printables.

I just wanted to highlight this stunning folky print from Boden. You may have seen it already as it is part of their new AW collection and is on sale now. The design features bright graphic folk motifs in warm Autumn colours on a black base. Besides the Aria top (above & below) you can find a skirt and embroidered boots in the same style. Great to see print taking such a prominent role!

BOOK - paper love

Love Paper is a new book designed by Jules and Mark McKeown. It features beautifully designed patterned paper for gifting and crafts. It includes stickers, gift tags, gift boxes, postcards, garlands and more.  Mark and Jules worked together to create this colourful book combining both their love pattern and jolly illustration and it is now available to buy now from Amazon UK or Amazon USA.
Jules continues to design under the name The Pattern Social in collaboration with fellow textile designer Jessica Hogarth. Here are some snapshots I took of the book followed by images of Jules and Marks actual artworks that feature in Paper Love.
