RUG DESIGN - node

node are a non-profit social business who work with the worlds best designers and illustrators and convert their images into the highest quality hand-made fair trade carpets. designers include sanna annukka, donna wilson, petra borner, micah lidberg and node founder chris haughton. node's makers, kumbeshwar are a founder member of fair trade nepal and their employees are taught literacy and skills. in addition to fair wages their work supports a school of 260 children and an orphanage of nineteen. after three years planning and making the node collection of 18 artists will launch at the design museum and the limited edition rugs will be on sale at the design museum shop in march. you can also have your own design made into a rug by node from £250 per m2. find out much more online here at node.

It might just be because I love Fair Trade, but these rugs feel like they contain more than just good design---they feel like they are full of love. Thanks for this great post.
